About Us

The Four56 Church Biblical Counseling Center is focused on helping people find joy, healing, peace, and holy living in light of the person and work of Jesus Christ. It is our belief that all true healing comes from a right understanding of Jesus Christ. We must first ensure that we know him and understand him as Lord and Savior. Without that being the case, there is no long-term hope for the life of any individual. Once we understand Jesus as Lord and Savior, we must endeavor to understand our identity in Christ. It is imperative that we grasp how deeply loved we are by the God of heaven. That understanding will allow us to begin to heal from our deepest wounds, and to put aside sin that has plagued us relentlessly. We believe, that we have everything we need for life and for godliness through the finished work of Jesus and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. The biblical counseling center will hold Jesus as the beginning and ending point of all truth and all counsel.

We have two children Nikki and Andrew. I worked as an airline mechanic and in 1995 returned to South Africa with my family to serve the Lord as a missionary in church planting and leadership development. In 2016, I started seminary and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology. Gena and I returned to San Angelo in 2021 and since January of 2022 I’ve worked as a biblical counselor. My focus in life is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to accurately handle the scripture, and to build others up to serve the Lord.

I graduated from Cape Town Seminary in South Africa in 2006, and in the years that followed, the Lord graciously led me into missions work. Those early years of ministry deeply shaped my heart for people and for the transforming work of the gospel in everyday life.

In 2016, I was called to serve as Associate Pastor at Umhlanga Baptist Church, where I initially devoted my time to youth and children’s ministry. It was during this season that the Lord began to draw my heart toward biblical counseling and personal, one-on-one discipleship. As I walked alongside individuals and families, I grew increasingly burdened to help people apply God’s Word to the real struggles of life with hope and grace in Christ.

Desiring to serve more faithfully in this area, I completed further training in Biblical Counseling through the Grace School of Ministry in 2017. I find great joy in coming alongside others as they grow in their relationship with Christ through discipleship, the faithful teaching of Scripture, and gospel-centered counseling.

At the end of 2024, my family and I moved to San Angelo, Texas—my wife’s hometown—where I have spent the past year serving the local community as a biblical counselor. It is truly a privilege to walk with people through seasons of difficulty and growth, offering Christ-centered counsel that rests in the sufficiency and wisdom of God’s Word.

Worship with us every Sunday at 9:00 or 10:45!
